The best part of having a

a daughter-in-law is passing along all the stories of her new husband and his siblings as children :-)

-->

   Daughter and her friends used to play with Barbies for a time. Barbie seemed to always be in peril. I would find her tied up awaiting, I was told, rescue from Ken. Not sure what Ken was doing but rescuing Barbie was not high on his agenda. I started calling this phenomena "Barbies in Bondage".

   Then poor Barbie fell into the hands of her twin brother and his friends, all part of the Neighborhood Tribe. Barbie was tied to a rocket and launched into space. Not sure how far she went up but she came down with evidence of her perilous journey.

  Barbie lived out her days in the Haunted House we set up at Halloween.

"Barbies in Bondage". Love it!

That's awesome.....all of us girls should have banded together and launched Barbie ourselves. Revolt against Mattel for setting up incredibly high expectations and the fostering the idea that we look our best in horribly painful shoes.

I played with my Barbies probably longer than most young girls. My Barbies had sex a lot-- but no bondage, oddly enough. Not sure what that says about me.

My Daughter's Barbies suffered hand amputations from a very spirited young dog years ago.

Poor Barbie. Made me laugh even more because I know the ones behind those stories.
