104 and then storm of the decade (we hope)

We got up to 104 and then a thunderstorm rolled in and sat on us. Hit three houses in our section of town. Filled up streets and underpasses with water. Knocked down trees and branches. Flooded businesses. Two seemed to hit really close to us. One sent Abby looking for The Engineer. Storms all the way from NE Oregon, up thru WA and into Northern Idaho. 30 to 50 mph winds. Other places got 70 mph.
Are we having fun yet? :-)

Abby is Concerned...

This morning, while enjoying her after breakfast nap, Abby (and I) heard something scrambling back and forth across the roof, OR, inside the attic space.... back and forth it went. Then finally stopped.
A squirrel?? We reported it to The Engineer when he got up. We told Tar but he yawned.

Black Holes!

LIGO -located here in SE WA, on Twitter this morning.

-We are thrilled to announce the observation of , a signal generated by the merger of two !

-LIGO has detected a third pair of merging black holes, 3 BILLION light years away, sending ripples across spacetime!

-The two merging which generated had masses of about 30 and 20 times the mass of the sun.

-This means that these were generated as multi-cellular life was developing here on Earth!
