winds from this storm are over.

wind, wind and more wind

The third and fourth semi-trucks to tip over. so far.
77 mph right next door. 113 mph on top of one of our hills.
there is a school where the kids are stuck. too dangerous for buses to come get them.
wind still blowing.

so we NEED rain

wish we could get it without 60 mph winds.... here on the east side we have tons of blowing
dust which shuts down roads - those that don't have semi-trucks blocking them from blowing over.
this is Lake Washington.

really? what happened to gray?

I expect the use of the word 'anthracite' from a fashion designer or interior designer or decorator.
But from a football team?
Our colors have always been crimson and gray. This could be considered 'dark gray'. But anthracite - I had to look it up.
Regardless - hope they win! :-)

One hour from kickoff! We will be in the Crimson helmets with anthracite jerseys and pants!

abby

you can see the foot that had the surgery in the back. she is glad to be home. we bought the most comfy cone of shame they had.... but still does not look fun. what next?

question for dog owners - re abby

One of abby's nails came completely up from the quick and then fell off. never have seen this before. she is at the vet, will be sedated and the quick trimmed all the way back. then the plan is for the quick and the nail to grow back together.
she wasn't anywhere new - just patrolling her backyard. so now we are going to have two recovering from surgery around here. luckily the engineer was able to come home and has the next three days off to deal with us...
anyone seen this before?
