Thunder and lightning here in SE WA

Last night a lightning storm moved thru here and started a bunch of little fires. Luckily it was accompanied by some rain and no wind. All fires were put out by local firemen who had stationed trucks all over the two counties. It was a long night.

This picture is of Lake Chelan where The Engineer's grandparents used to live. He spent many a summer day there. Picture is of the town and the fire is across the lake.

A lot of them are between an hour and two hours away.
We get a ton of smoke. We don't have trees, all our lands
are covered with sagebrush and dried grasses. Easy for our
firefighters to get to. Biggest one was 150,000 acres
on the nuclear res when the kids were little.
