(Background: WA state is in a real bind. Our Supreme Court ordered the legislature to finally fully fund education - this has been going on since the twins entered kgarten. All these years we ran levies to make up our state budget. About $22 million a year in our district alone. AND we, maybe foolishly, voted in an initiative to drastically reduce class sizes. In the district I volunteer in that would mean 40 additional classrooms - probably portables and staffing and equipment. Anyway, the legislature adjourned - without doing anything. They came back, they adjourned. Nothing about the billions of dollars expected to fund education.)
ANYWAY - today this shows up. The governor is bringing back the legislature. AGAIN and -
" Gov. Jay Inslee has ordered a second special legislative session to
convene Friday and told lawmakers working on the state's more than $38
billion two-year operating budget he wants them to move their
negotiations to his office, starting Monday morning."
