Winter lessons - for gnome gardens

Two holes where I had to remove trees that died over the winter. The little green 'bush' and grass has been replaced. Most important lesson - is gnome gardens need water over the winter. Where the roof dripped into the gardens all survived. Where things were protected being under the roof line they did not. More lessons on the gnomes own blog here - http://thegnomegardens.blogspot.com/
Otoh I have lots of excuses to go visit all the nurseries in our three towns that cluster around the rivers here.

why didn't the gnomes water their own garden during the winter? and will they go with you to the garden centers to pick out new plants?

The gnomes spent their winter inside, drinking beer and watching tv.
Hmmm, don't think I'm going to let them inside a garden center. They would probably buy a riding lawn mower and terrorize the neighborhood!

You might not want the Gnomes to water their garden. Especially since they drink lots of beer. If you get my drift.....
