Dear Neighbors, we are sorry!

We really do have wonderful neighbors. This is the second time we've had to remove aspens. DO NOT PLANT ASPENS. Or at least around here. These little bugs get in and kill them. Abby is beside herself.

Bummer. I will not plant Aspens. It's all I can do to keep aphids off my roses!

I don't think Aspens will grow in Central Illinois, so I guess I'm safe from making that mistake. (not that I haven't made plenty.)

This is just a guess but are aspens found In Colorado?

Wikipedia sez Populus tremuloides is a deciduous tree native to cooler areas of North America, one of several species referred to by the common name Aspen. It is commonly called quaking aspen,
Which may be our problem - cooler areas - a stressed tree is a tree more prone to disease and bugs.
