New froggies arrive

One of my ponder friends has way more frogs show up than her ponds can handle so they come here with their little suitcases packed. There were four in this container, the other hiding. They are out in our pond, joining the one fellow who thought he had the pond to himself, and they are croaking up a songfest. These fellows are Pacific Chorus frogs.

What does a frog pack in that little valise for the move to the Ponder House?

Everything taste better with blue bonnet on it !! :-) just had to sing that So. Since I've not been paying attention these last few years. What becomes of the new neighbors after summer. Do they survive the whole summer? What happened to the resident queen bullfrog???

We think Lady Bullfrog got disgusted with the puppies and left for another pond. We also have a creek and an irrigation canal all close to our house. Chorus froggies spend the winter in leaf litter, under logs, under landscaping materials in the yard. I've one live for years in the front planter by our door. Wakes up every spring and croaks away.

Let's hope these are immune to the dogs and will stay.
