Abby learns about karma...

After breaking her brother (see previous post) Abby attempted to subdue a bee.
The bee protested.
By the end of an hour her entire snoozle on the right side was swollen.
We looked up dogs and bee stings on the interwebz and then gave her 5mg of anti-histamine.
Slowly went down. This morning just a bit of swelling at the base of her jaw.
If it is not one thing, it is another...

My last baby. Gracie was stung and we called her mr. Magoo for a couple days.
Abby Hun the bees may die but you'll remember them forever.

Oh Abby, bees taste bad, their honey tastes good...life lesson I guess.

Oh...I have had the same happen. My lab doberman mix used to LOVE to bite bees. He found out the hard way, like Abby, that it's not such a great idea. Glad she is better. :)

Was she in pain, or didn't notice it at all?

Didn't seem to notice. She did lose a few kibbles outside her snozzle and took her time eating.
Tar has been trying to keep up by snatching at crane flies and spiders.

Crane flies????

They look like giant mosquitoes. Lots of legs. They love to fly into the house and bedevil daughter. They start life as aquatic larva and then escape the pond. Their only task is to mate, lay eggs and die. No mouth parts.
