Bullfrog Drama

Bullfrogs leave ponds at night and hunt for mice and snakes and voles and shrews and other creatures of the night. The old lady labradors never bothered frogs or turtles they found in the yard. Puppies are a different matter.
Tonight Abby, then Tar, found the HRH The Lady Bullfrog in the old fashioned rosebush border. We didn't know what they had found until we saw the frog make a break for it. The Engineer ran down the stairs and shooed the dogs away as the bullfrog started crying!!!!
OMG! It was awful!!! She finally jumped in the pond and was safe. I'll check tomorrow to see how she is doing. Catching a bullfrog to present it to our vet for treatment would be an adventure. Hopefully she was just scared and not injured.
btw- that is her in the banner picture. I don't think I'm going to sleep very well tonight....

It's one of the downsides to having a hospitable yard for animal folk. We attract them and are canine companions try their best to chase them away.
